As we all know, San Diego Comic-Con 2015 will be held 8-12 July next summer. Guess who's going to be in town on 9 July? One Direction. Yes, the boy band with the global army of Tiger Beat fans. All of those fans will be swarming into town and mixing with SDCC fans, and the possible traffic/hotel overlapping chaos is already making my head hurt.
I don't know what person allowed this to happen, but they should be fired immediately.
It's not that big a deal, really. They're playing at Qualcomm, which, IIRC, is far away from the downtown/Gaslamp area. It has been suggested that the band might show up at SDCC on the 10th.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a big deal in terms of traffic and hotel rooms, and One Direction fans who might now be inspired to try for a SDCC badge and do both.
DeleteNot to mention that Qualcomm is where a lot of people who are attending while staying outside of the city proper normally park so they can train in. Yikes.
