The Walking Dead Escape is back in Petco Park this summer. If you've never done it, this is an opportunity for you to live out your Walking Dead fantasies by navigating an obstacle course filled with zombies. You can be a survivor, walker or spectator.
How hardcore is it? It's not a race but as the site says, "the slow usually die for a reason." You should be prepared to climb, crawl and slide, although the course has been designed for people with a range of abilities. Water is available along the way. Supposedly the whole thing takes 35-45 minutes to complete.
Right now you can sign up in the American Express pre-sale for Friday and Saturday nights. There are discounts for military members and groups of 10 and up, and there's also a $125 VIP package where you run the course twice - first as a survivor, then as a walker. You also get a t-shirt and backstage access.
I admire anyone who has the energy to run around a zombie-filled obstacle course three days into the Con. But of course, you don't have to be a badge-holder to participate in this - anyone can buy a ticket. So if you don't have a badge, and are lamenting your inability to see the Walking Dead panel, you can console yourself with this.
